The use of flux poor raw materials (also with a supplement of alumina rich offset components for special applications), together with firing at high temperature, assure good performance of these products at high operating temperatures. Brands which are low in iron oxide and which are fired at high temperatures (< 1,5 % Fe₂O₃) are characterized by their high CO resistance. These materials are used for all kinds of industrial furnaces.
