What are refractories?

As a material that is not mollified in high temperature of at least 1,000 ℃, sufficiently maintaining its intensity and withstanding chemical reactions, it refers to materials that has refractoriness of above SK26 (Temperature of which the Seger Cone melts and falls down : 1,580 ℃) in accordance to the Law of Refractoriness Measurement of Korean Standard (KS).

Refractory bricks, as a representative refractory, is used in refractory furnaces related to steel or shaft alley materials in ceramic industry. Other than refractories, there are crucibles for dissolving metal and other products. In addition, there are materials such as cermet which has rapidly developed recently as well as materials related to nuclear energy.
